“Impossible is only a few extra phone calls.” – Sam, former manager/mentor
The Impossible list is NOT a bucket list. There’s a difference.
It’s a completely different concept. Lots of people have bucket lists. My
co-workers used to referred to bucket lists as “a list of dreams that you’d
like to do but will never complete because life gets in the way”. It’s
essentially a list of stuff people hope to accomplish someday. If you don’t get
an opportunity to check them off, you don’t feel bad about it.
The impossible list is different. It is a list of impossible
things that I thought I couldn’t do because it was “impossible.” The sort of
things that I assumed the cool guys on TV only ever got to do. The things I
never thought that I would be able to do. The difference lies in the
fact that it actually requires a person to get their butt in gear and work
towards getting stuff done.
It’s significance
resonates with me even more after acquiring RSD and being told that there was a
distinct possibility that it might be impossible for me to ever walk again.
This is my list of
impossible things. It is a journey of all the things that are
possible if I don’t let excuses get in the way. My intention is to constantly be
crossing things off it as I accomplish them and adding to it when needed and I'll be making regular updates about my journey on this blog.
Maybe you’re bored. Maybe you’re tired of simply attempting what’s considered “safe” and “possible”, maybe you just want to try something different. This blog is for you. Feel free to follow my journey via RSS or start your own Impossible List if you feel like it. If you do, send me an email and let me know. I’d love to hear about it what impossible things you’re doing. If you’d like to help make any of these impossible things happen – let me know – I’m all ears.
